About the Favourites Series:
One of our favourite things is to listen to our favourite people talk about their favourite things. In this series, we’ll be inviting some awesome guest contributors to talk to or about their favourite people in art and entertainment. We hope you love it as much as our guests love the art and artists they’re here to talk about.

About this Episode:
It’s only our second episode but we’re already breaking our own rules. The scheduling didn’t work out with the person I wanted to get to do this interview but I didn’t want to cancel so I gave it some thought and figured, I may not be a guest contributor, but the important thing about this series isn’t the guest part, it’s the favourites part and Frank Turner is definitely one of my favourite artists. I first heard of Frank on a film podcast of all things when one of the hosts listed his 2008 album Love Ire & Song as his favourite album of all time. I downloaded the record sight unseen and over the next sixth months I don’t think I listened to anything else. I use my favourite track ‘I Knew Prufrock Before He Got Famous’ as the alarm on my phone, waking up every day to the line “let’s begin at the beginning” then letting that song’s unrelenting crescendo force me out of my stupor and into the day. So I gave myself my own episode of The Favourites Series and kept the Frank Turner interview for myself. I talked to him about life on the road, what goes into the perfect setlist, and the writing process for his new album ‘No Man’s Land’. I also asked him to pay it forward so maybe someone listening to this podcast will find a new favourite artist of their own.
