Order The Vinyl HERE
Atmospheric, inventive and sonically interesting, Danish duo Kenton Slash Demon shared a new track – Syko – on September 8, 2015. The track will be released in a 12″ vinyl version coming out September 11 with their track Harpe as the other AA-side and a digital release set for on September 18, 2015 on the Future Classic label.
Shades of the carnival to a dance floor beat… an artsy avant-garde mode with a repetitive vocal sample that looms in and out of the rhythm… Syko is listenable, danceable and full of surprises. The duo produces that elusive quality – electronic music with a full heart, with nice, fat warm sounds and a range of emotions. The track is largely instrumental , with the words and vocals sampled and used as part of the electronic texture. There are sections that vary in tone from anthemic to carnivalesque to pretty standard dance grooves. I like the sense of invention that keeps boredom at bay – another common pitfall of electronic chants.
Based in Copenhagen, Kenton Slash Demon consists of Silas Moldenhawer and Jonas Kenton, also known for their work in When Saints Go Machine. The vinyl version of the release is for sale online, with the digital version coming up. They’re planning a North American tour in support of the release – stay tuned by following them on Facebook for more details.
