Tonight I finally got around to watching the last couple installments of High Drama on thewb.com. This documentary series about kids at Barnstable High School putting on The Wizard of Oz was such a breath of fresh air.
I wrote yesterday about how true Brothers & Sisters feels and that’s why I love it. Well, this documentary shows you exactly what being backstage and working on a big high school production is REALLY all about. High School Musical doesn’t even come close to the fun, the drama and the intensity of the real thing.
Featuring true and interesting characters like the disobedient scarecrow, jealous Glinda and a cancer-stricken stage manager, and dramatic happenings like audition conflicts and dangerous set mishaps, as well as true emotional moments such as the end of the show when the students reflect on all the seniors who will be leaving, High Drama is not only high on drama but on life.
